In the Credit Guarantee agreement signed between KWFT DTM and USAID, USAID guarantees 50% of the Principal amount lent in clean energy and agriculture portfolios.
KWFT DTM signed an Agreement with ILO in which the latter is to provide 150 000 USD to be used in establishing a revolving fund for on lending to women entrepreneurs in renewable energy with a view to creating ‘green jobs’.
The Institution signed a loan agreement for Kshs 205 000 million with the Government of the Republic of Kenya. The loan is for on lending to the agricultural sector.
Kenya Women Finance Trust (KWFT DTM) in conjunction with consumer electronics firm, Samsung Electronics East Africa (SEEA) has sealed a partnership to promote the uptake of mobile technology solutions among women.
KWFT DTM won the best microfinance stand at the Nakuru ASK show that took place in the month July 2012. The award came in line with the show’s theme which was; Enhancing Technology in Agriculture and Industry. KWFT has achieved this by offering innovative products and services including agriculture to its clients.
KWFT launched its first deposit taking branch in Kakamega in Western Province. The launch was preceded by a successful four days road show across the region.
KWFT Microfinance will now be able to accept deposits and use its balance sheet to provide financing to its 400,000 clients countrywide.
Kenya Women Finance Trust Limited (KWFT) is now a Deposit Taking Microfinance and will operate under the name Kenya Women Finance Trust-Deposit Taking Microfinance (KWFT-DTM).
